Many groups suffer from sporge. It is an eternal problem on usenet.

They don't care. I know many people who dutifully reported spam on
another group. It didn't seem to make a difference. Much of the spam
appears to originate from their web interface.

I don't see much spam. Look up the eternal september text-only feed,
or one of the many commercial feeds if you want binaries as well.

All groups are.

Lazyness I guess.

You should use a real news server (rather than a new archive) with
filtering capabilities (AIOE, Albasani, Glorb, Individual,
eternal-september.org ..)

Ummmm.... Everyone abandoned the group, so if I filter the spam,
there are no recent posts by real humans.

The SPAM largely killed this group off. I now use eternal-september.org
and no longer see the SPAM. Most of the regulars are now signed up
on multiple robotics club mail lists.
