Hai,

I was wondering if there exists an integrated robot
simulator..........i
mean a simulator where i can somehow input the geometry of the links or
the
design of a mobile robot.......specifications of the
motor...........specifications of the various sensors.........so that,
once
a control algorithm has been given it simulates the performance of the
robot...........i know its possible to simuate dynamics, controls, path

planning etc independently...........but i am looking for a software
which
allows me to simulate the entire robot along with the
environment..............

thanks,
RoboGuru

yes there is, its made of two packages

Player and Stage

if you want to know more you should ask wildmage, he used it at the
university

you will need to get on irc to ask him you need an irc program (like
xchat or mirc) and join the irc.linux.org server and go to the
#robotics channel, I dont know what time of day he is available.

Also, Pyro (http://pyrorobotics.org/ ) provides a nice Python wrapper
around Player/Stage/Gazebo, for those who aren't hardcore C/C++ hackers.

The new microsoft robotics package contains a physics engine for simulation
that is exactly what you are describing. I've seen the videos of people
using it, but haven't yet tested myself, so it could all be bogus, but I'd
look at it at least.

Cheers

There are several. Player/Stage is the most widely used.
Yobotics has one. Some of us are working on one that runs
inside of Blender.
