A five foot long robotic fish is being developed by the BMT Group and
Professor Huosheng Hu of Essex University. The fish is outfitted with
sensors used to sniff out chemical pollutants that result from leaks
from boats or underwater pipelines. Current plans call for five of
the fish to be released off of the Spanish port city of Gijon next
year.
