DARPA’s LANdroids program is overseeing the development of a system of
mobile robots whose purpose which will create a wireless network
quickly on the battlefield. The robots are to be rugged, very small,
consume little power, and have the ability to semi-autonomously fan-
out in an urban area in order to create an extensive communications
network used by soldiers in the field.
