Can ABS plastic be (easily) glued to PVC ? What kind of solvent/glue =
should be used ?

Sure. There is an all-purpose ABS/PVC solvent cement available at most
home improvement stores. Look in the plumbing/irrigation section.

It's called a transition cement, because it's used in the transition
between ABS and PVC pipe (which is common). It works because there are
several chemicals common to both types of plastics that act as solvents.
