Hi - looking at getting m indstorms for my children who were blown away
by it at a science museum recently. Thing is we can't stretch to £160
for a new 2.0 set (:-() so I'm checking out ebay... however there
doesn't appear to have been any 2.0 auctions so all we have to go on as
a ball park price is around £50 for a 1.5 set (which we can stump up
:-)

So 0 the big quesytion is... what IS the REAL difference between 1.5
and 2.0? I've deja'd but all I;ve found is fairly wooly suggestions
revolving around software versions (if so - is the updated s/w
downloadable/buyable seperately for how much?) and RAM sizes in the
micro-computer (if so - what is the real impact of this... e.g. are
you stuick with the 3 or 4 or whatever starter suggestions cos anything
else requires the RAM that isn't there?).

In short - what is the REALISTIC difference between 1.5 and 2.0?

cheers!!! TIA!

Not a lot really, the software is supposed to be better, but you can get an
update to that if you hunt abound on ebay etc.

No reason not to get 1.5 really.

You can get extra bits off ebay easily, and also check out www.Lugnet.com

You can even download the software for free from the lego site.
Google for it. Or else google this newsgroup and you will find the software
direct link on the lego site too.

http://peeron.com/inv/sets/9747-1 1.5

http://peeron.com/scans/3804-1/ 2.0

These are the inventories of the two sets. The software is different and the
2.0 uses a usb tower. I would buy the 1.5 You will enjoy your investment.
